Fruitfed Supplies’ Crop Monitoring Team in Hawke’s Bay is one of seven teams around the country working with growers to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of crop monitoring results to aid crop management decisions. Hawke’s Bay Crop Monitoring Co-ordinators Denise Chamberlain and Rena Mehrtens oversee a team of crop monitoring scouts who are hard at work in pipfruit, wine grape and vegetable blocks around the region, looking for pests, diseases and beneficial insects. Around the country, Fruitfed Supplies scouts help growers by with monitoring schedules in kiwifruit, avocados, pipfruit, grapes, citrus, berryfruit and a range of vegetable crops, depending on the region.
