Annabel Busby is the North Island Appraisal and Procurement Coordinator for PGW Wool. Since joining PGW Wool in 2017 on a fixed-term maternity cover contract, Annabel has become a key member of the team, known for her versatility, strong work ethic, and deepening passion for the wool industry.

Raised on a sheep and beef farm near Gisborne, Annabel’s rural upbringing has shaped the way she works with clients, always considering what’s best for the grower. With experience across almost every role in the Napier wool office, she brings a practical, hands-on approach to her current position, where she appraises wool samples, assigns value, and facilitates both auction and private sales.

Although she began her career as a dental assistant, Annabel found her calling in wool, a fibre she now champions enthusiastically. She has played a key role in supporting industry initiatives, including revitalising the Campaign for Wool’s social media presence during the post-COVID push for New Zealand-made products.

Outside of work, Annabel serves as President of the Napier Dog Training Club and enjoys bringing her dogs into the office, one of the many perks of working at PGW.
