Wool Integrity wool featured in new Norsewear Wool Blacks™ beanie
A new beanie from our PGW partner, Norsewear, is helping showcase the value of New Zealand wool, with the recently launched Wool Blacks™ beanie made using Wool Integrity NZ certified wool sourced directly from PGW Wool growers.
Designed for the parents, grandparents, coaches, volunteers and supporters who spend winter weekends on the sidelines of grassroots sport, the Wool Blacks™ beanie combines warmth, comfort and traceability in a practical everyday product.
The beanie is made from New Zealand wool certified through the Wool Integrity programme, providing consumers with confidence that the fibre has been sourced from farms that meet recognised animal welfare and production standards.
Norsewear Managing Director Tim Deane says the company has a longstanding commitment to New Zealand wool and the farmers who produce it.
"At Norsewear we've always backed New Zealand wool and the farmers who produce it."
Beyond promoting natural fibre, the initiative also supports local communities, with 10% of all Wool Blacks™ beanie sales donated to School Sport New Zealand to help support secondary school sport across the country.
Tim says the beanie is a way to celebrate both wool and the communities that support grassroots sport.
"New Zealand produces the world's best wool and we think it deserves to be celebrated! This beanie is a fun way to champion wool while supporting the communities that keep grassroots sport alive."
For PGW Wool growers, the product is another example of New Zealand wool being transformed into a high-quality consumer product that highlights the versatility, performance and traceability of natural fibre.
