PGW Renews Partnership with Land Search and Rescue New Zealand

PGG Wrightson is proud to continue its partnership with Land Search and Rescue New Zealand (LandSAR), renewing our sponsorship for another three years. Since first partnering in March 2021, we’ve seen firsthand the impact LandSAR has on communities across the country.

With many of our team members and clients regularly enjoying New Zealand’s great outdoors, supporting LandSAR’s life-saving work is close to home. In the 2023/24 financial year, LandSAR volunteers completed 526 search and rescue operations, assisted 418 people, and saved 40 lives. These efforts were made possible by the dedication of volunteers who contributed over 150,000 hours of service.

Operations included support for cognitively divergent individuals in urban areas, reflecting the breadth of LandSAR’s reach across both remote and populated regions.

PGW is proud to be part of LandSAR’s Valued Employer Programme, which recognises the important role employers play in enabling volunteers to respond to emergencies. Among those volunteers is Aaron Thompson, a Technical Horticultural Representative based in Marlborough, who has been involved with LandSAR for nearly a decade.

“I’m really pleased that PGW is supporting Land Search and Rescue on a national level,” says Aaron. “There are many synergies between the two organisations, especially the rural aspect. PGW has always been supportive towards my involvement with Land Search and Rescue.”

This partnership reflects PGW’s Sustainability Strategic Priority, which includes a commitment to the wellbeing of our people and rural communities, and reinforces the trust we’ve built across the regions where we live, work, and enjoy the outdoors.
