New Zealand Wool Classers Association AGM.
PGG Wrightson Wool Otago representative Graeme Bell recently attended the New Zealand Wool Classers Association’s AGM in Mosgiel, which doubled as a Classer Professional Development Day.
Included in the association’s annual Classer Awards, PGG Wrightson Wool is the sponsor of the Owner Classer category, where this year’s Merit Award winner was Allan Paterson of Armidale, Ranfurly, pictured right, with Graeme Bell.
Around 70 classers and wool industry members attended the professional development segment of the day, which had speakers covering working with wool pressers, key pre-season messages from wool brokers, judging wool fleeces, essential health and legal safety issues, initiatives to increase the use of and demand for wool, National Council of NZ Wool Interests, the new entity Wool Impact Inc and as always a range of practical wool exercises.
