Find Seek and Celebrate 92 Years of Land Search and Rescue
As ongoing supporters of Land Search and Rescue’s important mahi, we are excited to get behind their Searchlight Campaign throughout May. This year’s campaign marks a significant milestone—92 years of dedicated service by Land Search and Rescue teams nationwide.
The Searchlight Campaign aims to highlight the remarkable contributions of over 3,300 volunteers who are the backbone of Land Search and Rescue in Aotearoa. These volunteers in our communities are always ready to respond, providing crucial assistance in times of need. Their commitment and bravery ensure that those in distress can find their way back to safety. In the 23/24 financial year, Land Search and Rescue volunteers gave 67,692 hours to carry out 495 rescue operations across the motu, saving 41 lives and assisting 600 people in need.
Join the Searchlight Adventure!
Throughout May, keep an eye out for Seek, Land Search and Rescue’s adventurous 4-legged mascot. Seek will be making appearances in various community and commercial settings, as well as online. When you spot Seek, be sure to scan the QR code. This will direct you to the Land Search and Rescue website, where you can participate in various activities and go in the draw to win prizes when you make a donation.
Together, we can shine a light on the heroes who make a difference everywhere, for everyone in New Zealand. Here’s how you can get involved:
- Search for Seek: Look for Seek in your community or online—you might even spot Seek in some of our stores! When you find Seek, scan the QR code to join the fun and support a great cause.
- Donate: Your contributions help Land Search and Rescue continue their vital work. Every donation makes a difference in bringing people in our communities home safely.
- Spread the Word: Share the campaign with your friends and family. The more people involved, the greater the impact!
