Clients benefit from utilising PGW innovative products

On the 29th February, PGW Livestock held a North Island Cattle sale via bidr®, PGW’s online auction selling platform. The sale consisted of 15 lots (429 cattle in total) from across the King Country, Manawatu, and Wairarapa. The sale featured a lineup of quality cattle which drew significant interest – 61 registered buyers and 166 watchers tuned in to be part of the action on bidr®.

Of the 429 cattle auctioned on bidr®, 135 were Go-Beef cattle. Go-Stock is PGW’s cashflow solution for livestock trading, meaning these cattle were owned by PGW. The vendors will receive the trading margin from the cattle sold less fees and selling costs as PGW outlaid the capital to purchase them at the beginning of the contract. This is a great way for PGW clients to be able to free up capital so they can invest in other areas of their business. 

Paul Mitchell, King Country PGW Livestock Rep, had 90 Go-Beef cattle listed on bidr® in the North Island auction. “It was great to be able to offer my client a different way of selling – my client was conscious of transport costs so we thought we would give bidr® a go and it was a great success! Go-Stock has enabled my client to get started on his farming journey, freeing up his capital and he understands the value it adds to his business”. 

Rhys Hughes, Otorohanga beef & sheep farmer, sold Go-Beef cattle via bidr®. “I was glad to sell a line of steers on bidr® - I particularly liked having control over my reserve as I could set this before the cattle left the farm. It was also easy for prospective buyers to view the listing online rather than come all the way to my farm to view. The Go-Beef products have enabled me to get my business started and they are a very flexible cashflow solution which suits my business needs.” 

As well Go-Beef cattle being sold successfully on bidr®, 68 cattle were also purchased by PGW on behalf of Go-Beef customers. Vaughn Larsen, Waikato PGW Livestock Rep, was bidding in the sale for one of his clients utilising Go-Beef – “it was really easy to buy the cattle from bidr® and its very satisfying hearing the bell when you win a lot! I chased a few other pens but unfortunately missed out but was a great sale”. 

This sale was a great example of clients utilising products made available to them by PGW Livestock, for success in their farming businesses.
