PGG Wrightson Livestock representative Sam Brown was announced the 2019 champion of the Heartland Bank Young Auctioneers competition at the New Zealand Agricultural Show in Canterbury on 15th of November.

The Young Auctioneers competition aims to showcase and develop young auctioneers and improve the standard of auctioneering across the board.  

Sam receives $2,000 to enable him to attend the 2018 Sydney Royal Show to see the ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition. He will also have the opportunity to sell as an exhibitor and will receive the Denis Hazlett Medal and NZSSAA Perpetual Trophy.

Following on from the success of Ben McKerchar’s win in 2018, this year saw six PGG Wrightson livestock representatives entering the competition, with Ben Wright from Feilding taking out third spot and Alex Horn coming up in fifth. Also competing for the first time from PGG Wrightson was Hamish Forrester, Matt Lorck and Russell Maloney.
