Vale Victor

Farewell to highly valued Mid Canterbury team member with big heart and sharp sense of humour.

Victor Schikker, a cherished and highly valued member of the PGG Wrightson Livestock team sadly passed away in August following a tragic accident while curling: a sport he loved.

With nearly 50 years of dedicated service to his clients, our business, and the wider industry, Victor was not only a trusted colleague, but also highly respected in the community. Many of Victor’s clients became lifelong friends and many are still farming based on the original herd that he sourced for them when he moved from being a sheep and beef rep to a specialist dairy rep in 1992.

Victor was a much loved and popular member of staff in Ashburton. His willingness to help, welcoming attitude and sense of humour made Victor a pleasure to be around. He was a valued member of the team and was often affectionately described by those who knew him as ‘a real good bugger,’ admired for his big heart and sharp-witted sense of humour.

Our thoughts are with Victor’s family and loved ones.
