We are very excited to announce that PGG Wrightson has been nominated as a finalist for the Deloitte Top 200 ‘Most Improved Performance Award’ which recognises an outstanding change in business performance among New Zealand’s largest companies.  In selecting nominees, the judges look at the relative improvement in all performance indicators, the source of the improvement, and other ways the organisation has changed and the impact of these changes. 

This nomination reflects the strong performance of PGW Group and reflects the commitment of our staff to go the extra mile to support our customers.  It also considers the sound fundamentals in our business, that we are clear about our objectives, and are executing well on what we set out to achieve.   

Our impressive performance has been reflected in our total shareholder returns by way of strong dividend yields and share price appreciation which has increased significantly over the last year and reached as high as $5.70 in recent days. 

Last year we reset our group strategy and identified eight key strategic priorities.  Two financial growth measures we have targeted in our strategic priorities are: 

• Real growth (measured by EBIT growth exceeding CPI); and 

• Total shareholder return exceeding 10% p.a. 

It is very pleasing that we are meeting and exceeding these benchmarks and PGW remains well positioned to continue to perform strongly as we move into the second half of the financial year.
