How sheep farmers are improving their cashflow with Go-Lamb

As lambing season draws to a close across the country, many sheep farmers are facing the challenge of waiting months for income from this year’s lamb crop. Go-Stock offers an innovative solution to this through its Go-Lamb product, allowing farmers to receive a cashflow injection without having to send their lambs to market right away.

Go-Lamb enables farmers to sell lambs they already own to Go-Stock at market value. This gives them immediate access to funds, which can be used to cover essential farm expenses or to reinvest in their operations. Meanwhile, the lambs remain on the farm, continuing to grow and add value.

When the lambs are ready to be sold (store or prime), the farmer will receive the trading margin less the fees and selling costs.

Here’s what some farmers are saying about how Go-Lamb has helped them:

Greg & Dayle Calvert, King Country farmers, shared their experience:

“Go-Lamb has been a godsend for us. PGW bought our lambs without them leaving the farm, which freed up cash that we used for fencing and farm development, all while keeping our stock until the best time to sell. The process was straightforward, and the approval was quick and easy.”

Jackie Sarginson, Southland farmer, has also benefited from using Go-Stock to free up cashflow for the past 4 years:

"The Go-Stock cashflow tool has been invaluable to my business, allowing me to hold my lambs to finishing instead of selling store. Its flexibility lets me sell when it suits, and it's helped spread my income throughout the year, especially during tight times. This tool opens up options and has worked really well for me – I love the flexibility."

Go-Stock is a flexible option for farmers looking to keep their stock while improving cashflow during critical times of the year. It’s a practical solution that helps ease financial pressures without removing the ability to sell stock at optimum time.
