Demand strong for in-milk and close to profit cows
Limited supply of cows means quality lines are selling fast
Across the country dairy livestock market activity is heavily focused on quality in milk and close to profit cows.
With limited numbers available over the past few weeks, cows that have come forward through the North Island auction system have been well contested, while quality lines quoted in the paddock also sold quickly.
Although this level of demand is likely to continue through October, with mating about to start in most parts of the country, availability of cows to meet that demand will be strictly limited.
