  • Meet Danielle Boyd – Passionate about wool and its potential

Danielle’s journey in the wool industry began on her family’s sheep and beef farm in Northland, where she worked in shearing sheds as a wool handler during school holidays. After finishing school, she moved to Middlemarch and worked as a shepherd general at The Rocks, a 3200-hectare property with Merino and Halfbred ewes and beef cattle. Following three years on the farm, Danielle embraced the opportunity to combine work and travel, returning to the shearing industry in regions such as Central Otago, Northland, Hawke’s Bay, and even overseas in the UK and Australia.

In 2021, Danielle returned to Northland and took on the local shearing run while stepping into the role of part-time Wool Representative for the region. Her background in shearing and farming provides her with a hands-on understanding of shed operations, making her a trusted and approachable advisor for wool growers.

Danielle’s passion for wool is rooted in her belief in its incredible potential. She is driven to help New Zealand farmers maximise their returns and see wool reach its fullest potential on the global stage.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it’s on the farm, fishing, or cooking and baking. Her enthusiasm for rural life and her deep connection to the wool industry make her a dedicated advocate for Northland’s wool growers.
