Supporting Rural Communities

PGG Wrightson Cyclone Gabrielle Relief Fund

Our thoughts are with all those affected by the impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle. ‘Helping grow the country’ is our vision and is at the heart of what we do, and this is especially the case at times of challenge and adversity.

Shortly after Cyclone Gabrielle devastated large parts of the North Island, the PGG Wrightson Cyclone Gabrielle Relief Fund was set up to receive donations from the many customers and staff around New Zealand who wanted to contribute to support their fellow rural communities. We have been humbled at the generosity of donations received.

Including our initial donation of $30,000 to the Rural Support Trust, customer donations received in store, donations of livestock at saleyards and on-farm sales, payroll giving of over $5,000, and fundraising efforts through auctions and raffles, the fund has received over $139,000 in donations. While this phase of our support has now finished, we will continue to look at ways we can assist affected rural communities.

We will direct the proceeds of the Cyclone Gabrielle Relief Fund to the Rural Support Trust and Federated Farmers who are on the ground doing great work to support those most in need.
