The Technical Services team work with both local and global offices of key suppliers conducting a wide range of field trials each season for New Zealand’s key horticultural crops. These trials test the efficacy and environmental impact of new crop protection products before they go on sale.
The accurate running of field trials, under a variety of conditions, is an essential process to determining best fit for products, and testing can take months or, in some cases, years.
The technical services team also operates one of the largest crop monitoring services in New Zealand. The crop monitoring team works with both growers and industry organisations to establish scientifically robust pest and disease identification, protocols, thresholds and reporting systems.
Fruitfed Supplies-trained crop monitoring scouts collect comprehensive data on pest and disease levels which is then loaded daily into Fruitfed Supplies’s leading edge software system called Tracit.
