New farm manager appointed for NZ Farming Systems Uruguay

NZ Farming Systems Uruguay today announced that Mr Robert Borst has been appointed to manage a 3,000 hectare farm that the  company acquired recently in the east of Uruguay.

Mr Borst has significant farming operations in New Zealand and will be taking leave from these to move to Uruguay, where he will be joined by his wife Kim and children Emily, Thomas and Megan.

In his new role, Mr Borst will be a senior member of a team responsible for the development of farms owned and to be acquired by NZ Farming Systems Uruguay.

Mr Borst will report to the Chief Executive of PGG Wrightson Uruguay, Mr Carlos Miguel de Leōn. Mr de Leōn said “I am delighted to have Mr Borst join my team and look forward to the very exciting development of Uruguayan land using best practice New Zealand farming  systems”.

Explanatory Note: NZ Farming Systems Uruguay Limited was launched through an IPO in late 2006. The company currently owns 4 farming properties in Uruguay which are managed under contract by subsidiaries of PGG Wrightson. These are being converted to intensive beef and dairy farming applying best-practice New Zealand farming systems. The company is positioning itself for growth.
