PGG Wrightson Turf is a division of PGG Wrightson Seeds Ltd, a proprietary seed business that was formed in 2005 as a result of the merger of Wrightson Limited, Pyne Gould Guinness Limited and Agricom.

PGG Wrightson Turf has been breeding turf grass seed specifically for the Australasian environment for over 30 years and has established itself as innovative market leaders in turf grass breeding, and turf research and evaluation.  Our aim is to supply New Zealand Turf Managers with high performance turf grass solutions for the unique challenges faced by the New Zealand turf industry.

Given the Australasian love for outdoor pursuits, it is imperative that our natural turf surfaces are able to perform in a range of climatic conditions throughout the year.  To achieve this PGG Wrightson Turf operates its own turf grass breeding and product evaluation programme based from our research centre on the outskirts of Christchurch, and which is supported by additional trial sites throughout New Zealand.

Our philosophy is simple – we base the offering of Turf products upon scientific principles derived from a number of local and overseas suppliers in order to utilize the leading technological advancements in turf grass solutions.  All products sold by PGG Wrightson Turf undergoes a rigorous testing and screening process from our local and International research partners, including STRI UK, NTEP USA, ANTEP Australia, University of Sydney turf grass program, and NZSTI New Zealand.

This ultimately enables us to deliver our customers turf solutions that simply can not be beaten for performance in NZ conditions and that are tailored to meet your specific requirements.

PGG Wrightson Turf has invested heavily into the New Zealand sports turf industry and built a strong technical sales team that is backed by our scientific servicing group who ensure the right selection for your specific requirements.
