Practical Horticulture

This 8-month course explores a wide range of effective gardening techniques. We explain the theory behind established gardening practices and will visit commercial properties to see best practice put into action.

Hands-on practical work combined with theoretical explanations and a sharing of class experience guarantees an interactive and fun way to increase your knowledge of the needs of plants.

This course will be of great value to those wanting to begin their career or extend their knowledge and skills in horticulture, including:

Qualification & Further Opportunities
Successful learners will be awarded a National Certificate in Horticulture (L2) and may progress onto our popular Go Organic course or into employment in one of a wide range of horticultural employment opportunities.

This courses is approved for New Zealand Domestic Students and may be delivered in partnership with Telford Rural Polytechnic and the Western Institute of Technology Taranaki (WITT).  Please contact Agriculture New Zealand for details regarding eligibility to enrol, and for course fees in your area.
